Remarks
The RU7 is a discrete one-bit converter — a resistor ladder that renders every input as DSD before the network sees it. Cayin's own spec sheet names a PCM ceiling by rate alone: 44.1 to 384 kHz, with no bit depth printed anywhere. An incomplete claim earns no verdict, so the PCM line is left unscored; the descriptor supplies what the copy withholds — native 16-, 24-, and 32-bit containers, each carrying the full ladder to 384 kHz on a high-speed USB Audio Class 2 interface.
On DSD the claim is whole and the transport is named: native DSD64 to DSD256, fed straight to the one-bit ladder. The descriptor witnesses exactly that — a Type-1 raw one-bit alt to DSD256, no PCM decimation in the path. For a converter whose whole architecture is DSD, that native path is not a feature but the main road, and the silicon declares it plainly.
