The solitary journal of the Fabricator-Primus — set down through the long labour of forging the Engine, and never meant for other eyes. What follows is what the acolytes have recovered from the Forge’s record and reassembled, leaf by leaf: the doubts and reasonings beneath the Engine’s settled doctrine, preserved in the maker’s own hand.
