Remarks
On PCM depth and ceiling, claim and silicon agree: 16- to 32-bit to 768 kHz, met by a single 32-bit container that zero-pads the narrower depths and carries the full ladder. One published rung does not survive the witness — Chord lists 717.6 kHz, a figure that maps to no standard sample rate; the descriptor carries 705.6 kHz (16×44.1 kHz) in its place, and declares no 717.6 kHz at all.
On DSD, the published specification names native playback from DSD64 to DSD512. The descriptor declares no native path — not one raw one-bit alt-setting, at any rate. A native claim is weighed against the descriptor's native alt, and there is none to weigh. DSD may still reach the converter as DSD-over-PCM, riding the PCM rungs the descriptor does declare, but DoP is not native, is not descriptor-witnessable, and is not what the specification claims. The native promise is published without qualification; the wire does not carry it.
