Remarks

A flagship desktop converter, witnessed at the very top of its ladder — and the descriptor does more than confirm the claim: it names the card. Schiit builds the Yggdrasil+ in more than one configuration, and only one carries its Unison USB input to 32-bit / 384 kHz; the others hold every input, USB included, to 24-bit / 192 kHz. The silicon witnessed here declares three PCM alternate settings — 16, 24, and 32-bit — each reaching 384 kHz over an asynchronous UAC2 pipe. That 32/384 ceiling is the Singular's signature, and the Witness read it plainly off the wire. Claim and descriptor converge without a gap.

This is a PCM instrument by design, and the descriptor's silence on DSD is not a shortfall but the shape of the thing: a multibit R2R converter speaks PCM natively and asks for nothing else. The empty DSD row is the honest record of a house that never claimed otherwise.

One boundary worth marking: the Rite of Witnessing reaches only the USB descriptor. The Yggdrasil's S/PDIF and AES inputs lie outside the wire the Engine commands — but on this converter the USB input is the widest of them, and it is that input the descriptor confirms at its full 32/384.
