Remarks
TempoTec specs the Sonata BHD Pro conservatively, and the silicon overshoots the brochure. The page names PCM to 32-bit / 384 kHz; the descriptor witnesses the full ladder to 768 kHz — the same 32-bit containers, carried two rungs higher than the copy claims. The Concordance marks that gap as it marks any: the silicon exceeds the stated ceiling. It is the rarer direction of divergence — a converter that outruns its own spec sheet — and it costs the buyer nothing.
On DSD, TempoTec names DSD64–DSD512 without stating the transport. An unqualified DSD claim is read as native, and the descriptor answers in kind: a Type-1 raw one-bit alt carrying the bitstream to DSD512, no decimation. Claim and silicon meet.
MQA renders above the wire — a licensed unfold the USB descriptor never sees. It is recorded, and left unweighed.
